Reporting a Concern

Things to Know

  • Licensed child care centres and home child care agencies are regulated by the Ontario Ministry of Education and governed by the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA). They are also obligated to follow additional rules set forth by local health departments and other municipal authorities.
  • Most child care licensees will make a sincere effort to address your concern, but they may be constrained by the various overlapping sets of rules and regulations they have to follow.
  • The Ministry of Education offers tips for resolving child care concerns.
  • A dispute doesn’t necessarily mean that you, your child or the centre is somehow at fault. Sometimes, it’s just not a good match. Try not to take it personally. Not every child care setting is the right fit for every child.

How ADCO Can Help

ADCO has no legal authority to investigate complaints. We can, however, offer parents insight into common practices in licensed child care centres. If you wish to discuss your situation with us, please refrain from naming the centre involved. Please contact us at +18005677075
