WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN CHOOSING CHILD CARE
Deciding which form of child care and which child care provider is best for your family is never easy, but ADCO members are here to help. In this section you'll find articles that will help you better understand the child care industry, how it's regulated and some of the issues you may wish to consider when selecting a child care provider. One of the first and most important things to understand is the difference between regulated and unregulated child care. You'll also want to give some thought to what regulated child care setting might be best for your child. Independent, licensed child care programs offer some distinct advantages when compared to government-run or institutional  "full-day learning" programs.  It's also important to be aware of the major factors related to health, safety and cleanliness in the child care setting, and to know what to look for in terms of progamming and activities that will help your child learn. New information is being added to this section on a regular basis, so please do check back every so often. If you have questions that aren't addressed by the information offered here, please contact ADCO at 1-800-567-7075
