JOINING ADCO
Benefits of Membership
The Association of Day Care Operators of Ontario (ADCO) represents the owners and managers of Ontario's independent, licensed child care programs. ADCO membership is open to any privately owned or non-profit child care program that is committed to quality and choice in child care.
ADCO's My School Child Care Insurance Program
The insurance requirements for licensed child care programs in Ontario are complex and vary from municipality to municipality. ADCO's My School Child Care Insurance Program offers the best protection and the best value on the market today. In fact, many ADCO members say that the savings they get through the My School insurance program more than offset the cost of their annual ADCO membership dues. ADCO's My School program is delivered by CCV Insurance & Financial Services Inc., an attentive, service-oriented broker with extensive experience in child care insurance issues.

Government Relations
Licensed child care programs can be affected by policy changes at every level of government. Simply staying informed about all of the various policy, funding and regulatory changes that affect you can be a challenge when you're busy running your program. ADCO retains a professional government relations firm to help keep you informed and ensure that the voices of ADCO's members are heard by public officials at the federal, provincial and municipal levels of government, and by members of all major political parties. ADCO also coordinates a variety of invitation-only events designed to bring public officials and ADCO members together in the service of Ontario families.
Management & Professional Development Seminars
Every year, ADCO hosts numerous conferences and professional development events designed to give you and your staff the skills and information you need to optimize your program's performance. Recent training topics include: science programming for young children; phenomic awareness; supporting children with differing learning abilities; threat assessment for child care centres; and the environmentally friendly child care centre. You simply won't find a more targeted or affordable learning experience anywhere else.
Networking
Every ADCO event is designed to give members new opportunities to get to know one another, share ideas and build strong, professional relationships. Members are also encouraged to connect with one another within their own communities, and via the Members Only chat area on the ADCO web site.
Communication & Representation
Your ADCO membership includes a subscription to Childcare Today magazine, which is also distributed to all Ontario MPs, MPPs, municipal children's services managers and selected ministry personnel. ADCO membership also includes periodic email updates on urgent matters related to child care service delivery in Ontario. Simply put, your ADCO membership helps keep you on top of industry trends, best business practices and the latest advancements in child care. With over 100 years of combined child care experience on our Board of Directors, a well developed member communications network and over 500 active members, there's simply no better investment you can make in the success of your program.
